Scripture Connection-have you heard?
Susan Wessman: Hi, good evening. Welcome to Scripture Connections. I'm Susan. There is something important I want to talk about tonight, and there's something I want to ask you. A very special question that I want to ask you. That I bet nobody has ever asked you. Has anyone ever told you? How much God wants to spend time with you? You. Yes, you. I can't wrap my head around that fact. The maker and ruler of this universe wants to spend time with humans. You, me, and anyone else that will spend time with him. Now, I don't deserve that. I'm not worthy of his presence, said And I'm not worthy of spending time with him. But he loves me, he loves you, and he wants to spend time with us. He wants to spend time with you. He wants to spend time with me. And Paul, he spent time with his father all the time, getting directions. We are all sinners. Thanks to Adam, we were all born in sin. And thanks to Almighty God, his forgiveness, we can be forgiven. So I have a personal question to ask you. Have you ever confessed your sins to God and asked for forgiveness? Do you remember the very day that you were saved by his grace? I do. I remember that night as if it was yesterday. It was during a revival. I was in my early teens. I responded, I went to the altar and I asked God's forgiveness. And he saved me. One of the most has to be the most important time of my life. If you've never had that experience, I hope you do someday. And I remember the night that my husband was saved. ⁓ He too was saved during the revival. And do you know how badly God wants to spend time with you and spend 15 minutes with you reading reading his word? Spend five minutes praying with him. Do you know how much that he would love to have that time with you? Just you. He would love to have that time with you. Have you ever thought about that? Do you know the peace that comes from that? Well, I will tell you. It's wonderful. When you're in his presence, you don't want to leave it. It is powerful. Did you know that he speaks through his word? It's called wisdom. You need answers? He has ⁓ in his word and through other people. Through circumstances. He knows what you're going through. He knows the pain that you are in, said He knows the anxiety that you feel. He knows the sorrow that you feel. He knows the fear that you have. He knows all about you. Wouldn't it be nice to get to know him a little bit better too? Take all your frustrations, all that worry, all the nerves, and take it to him. He wants us to. He tells us to. You know, the other night I found a scripture guide. When I was unpacking a box. And it goes through four different books of the Bible, one chapter each. It starts out with Matthew, it goes to Genesis, First Chronicles, and finally Esther. And it goes from the beginning of the year, which I missed, all the way through the year. I'm behind. It's a little bit behind. And it goes through all that genealogy stuff. The stuff that everybody hates to read. Well, I read it. I went through every single name and I made a map of it because I wanted to know it better. And I thoroughly enjoyed it. Yeah, it was a lot. But where we're at today versus that scripture all ties in. Because with Iran and all the other stuff going on, it ties back into that scripture. It all ties in. If you haven't read in Matthew and you haven't read in First Chronicles, I challenge you to take a look at it and go through the genealogy of it. It's pretty amazing. Yeah, a lot of people hate reading that because it's so boring and all those names. And I was wondering before, why do I had to know this? I mean Then I found out why. Those names are important. They're very important. All those generations of people leads back right back to us. It is one chapter at a time in each in each book. Yeah, I've gotten a little bit behind. I think I'm two days behind now, maybe three. And I gotta g try to get caught up tomorrow, but I didn't get started till a couple of days ago when I found it. So I'm hm way behind 'cause it starts on January first. But I'm enjoying it now. And then if I'm still alive come January 1, I'll start it over again. You always learn something new when you're in God's Word. It's called a living word for a reason. So God wants to spend time with you. Do you want to spend time with him? And if not, why not? You don't have time for five minutes. You don't have five minutes for him. ⁓ He's always there for you. Why can't you give him five minutes? He deserves our time. He deserves our praise. And he deserves our being in his word to get closer to him. You know, we are in tough times. Sin is rampant. If you don't understand about spiritual warfare, guess what? You're watching it right before your very eyes. We are in a spiritual battle. The good news is I know who wins. You see, the devil knows he's going to lose. Now, the devil's not all-knowing, but he knows scripture. He knows scripture better than you and I do. He can quote it quite well. But his days are numbered. He is fighting for anyone that he can take with him to hell. Don't let that be you. That's why we need to know scripture too. Because he knows it very well and he uses it. We need to come back at him with it. And you see, I'm also a nurse. I'm not working as a nurse right now on the on the bedside. I'm a writer. So I have a writing business. And I know for a fact That had it not been for God's side on my side and God's grace and my nursing career, I wouldn't have made it. I know that. Because I went straight from nursing school to working in a prison. And that was a challenge all by itself. It's called culture shock. And it was a culture shock. But that's where he led me. And he gave me the grace for it. He gave me the ability. And he gave me the peace about it. And it's one of the best decisions I ever made as a nurse. I didn't get to ⁓ stay with it for some personal reasons. Nothing to do with the prison life itself. I wish I could have. It would have been really nice if I could have and gr and retired from there. But I wasn't able to. But I got into situations there, not with inmates. with other things that if I hadn't have had God's peace, God's wisdom, God's help to guide me, it would have been a nightmare. But I knew he was with me. I trusted him. He got me through it. And I was the wiser for it. And I was closer to him because of it. So my question to you tonight is, do you have a need? I would love to pray for you about that need. My ⁓ podcast is on YouTube and it's on Podview. It is under LVN Success Hub. I hope you'll subscribe to this because I've got more coming. I've got ⁓ scripture that I'm reading that I'm gonna share with you. I haven't got all put together because a lot of it's genealogy. But I plan to put it together and do An episode on that with my podcast. What I would love for you to do is if you are willing, is to join me. Come on my website. Come on my podcast. And if not my podcast, join me. Let's do God's word together. Let's do a devotional together. Let's discuss what God's word says. Let's get some wisdom, okay. Let's get some wisdom. It's right there for us. It's a roadmap for us. So join me. And let's get some wisdom together. Let's discuss what God's Word says. You may have different ideas and thoughts than I do, but I let the Holy Spirit guide me anyway. But it would be great to have someone else to either be a guest on my podcast virtually. And let's talk about God's word. Let's do a small scripture and just see what it says. And see if we agree. And if we don't, why? You know, I am a follower of Twenty Point USA. And oddly enough, initially I didn't even know who I'd heard his name, Charlie Kirk, but I didn't know what he did. I thought he was all IT. I didn't know he actually had the Rallies that he held. And so when I watched his rallies, I was so blessed because I thought someone is getting the word out. Someone is getting the truth out. I would love to do the same. And that's why I do this podcast. Is I want to get God's truth out for those who are willing to listen and to discuss. So if you want to discuss it. Come on with me, meet my guests, and let's talk. Let's have a good old-fashioned conversation about God's word. Thank you and good night.
